I often stopped off at one of the local fish ’n chip shops when we lived in England. and still seek such establishments out whenever I’m home for a visit. Thus far, the best tasting ones were those my son and I consumed in Blackpool whilst cowering against gale force winds. (I image that, under the circumstances, their warming properties added to the flavour.) But even though fish ’n chips might seem quintessentially British, this UK food favourite did not originate there.
