BOOK PROMOS: LONG AND SHORT REVIEWS ANNIVERSARY PARTY
Four of my books will be among those featured, one each day from August 22nd through 25th. http://www.longandshortreviews.com
HISTORIC CRAZE: HULA HOOPS
Though hoop toys have been around for a very long time, the hula hoop craze didn’t start until plastic hula hoops were put out in 1958. Mine was blue. I was five, and not very good at ‘hula’ing. https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/1977/05/15/conceived-in-the-fad-crazed-50s-the-hula-hoop-makes-a-comeback/b0113458-354e-483b-8c32-5c9a6ca56bf1/ https://www.britannica.com/reviews/hula-hoop-history
FAMILY HISTORY: FAMILY REUNIONS

HISTORIC STRUCTURES: FIRE TOWERS
Not being fond of heights, it always made me nervous to watch Pete, Chub, Mike, and the others climb such towers on that 1960s kids’ TV show, The Forest Rangers. The one they frequented looked really tall.
HISTORIC PHOTOS: TRAVELLERS WITH TWO HATS
My travel memoir doesn’t contain photos, so, for those who’ve said they think it should have: https://books2read.com/b/Travellers-with-Two-Hats
