Got kids who aren’t interested in history but do like ‘pretending’? Have them pretend to be famous person you’ve invited to dinner, and ask them questions that will have involved them learning something about this person beforehand. And be sure to offer your guest some of the foods this person would be used to.
Alternatively, you could be the famous person invited to dinner, and answer the kids’ questions. (Yes, you’d then have to brush up on their choice.)
