HISTORIC FUN: PLAYGROUND PERILS

When you show your kids the photos on these sites, they will doubtless wonder why there are no such structures on their playgrounds, forcing you to explain that, because society is now much more safety (and lawsuit) conscious), they will probably never know the thrill of being flung off a roundabout at speed, scorched by a metal slide, or conked on the head by a solid wooden swing. (I personally experienced all of the above.)
