England’s Bonfire Night guys tend to reflect their times. The one pictured is typical of a man of the 1950s, but when Jack the Ripper was plying his trade back in the late 1880s, some of the Guy Fawkes effigies being paraded around were made to look like the public’s supposed image of the person terrorizing London’s Whitechapel area. What he actually looked like, no one knows since, unlike Guy Fawkes, the Ripper, was never caught.
