Question: Where did the famous Revolutionary War traitor, Benedict Arnold, go to live after the war?
Answer: Canada. Even though he’d been among those attacking it in the days before he turned traitor, he was allowed to settle there anyway. (We’re like that.) He wasn’t too well received locally, however, and eventually moved to England, where he died in obscurity in 1801. Thanks to him, the name Benedict has never, since then, been overly popular in the U.S.A. though it still holds favour in England, as evidenced by actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Taylor.
